Below are short samples of various pieces of concert music which Owen has composed.

The Space between Stars is a piece for string quartet lasting about 9 minutes in total. This recording is from a workshop at the University of York with Quatuor Diotima in 2020.



Piping in the River is a piece for solo flute and chamber ensemble, lasting about 10 minutes in total. This piece was composed for the Chimera Ensemble's Undergraduate Commission; 2018, and performed as part of the York Concerts 2018-2019 season on 17th November 2018. Migration is a piece for cello ensemble (for 3 celli and above), lasting about 4 minutes. This piece was performed by the University of York Cello Ensemble/the Chimera Ensemble as part of the York Concerts 2017-2018 season on 2nd March 2018.



Autumnal Cantus is a piece for chamber ensemble, lasting about 7 minutes in total. This piece was performed by the Chimera Ensemble during their lunchtime concert on 1st March 2019. You can listen to the full piece here.



Red 2031 is a piece for big band, lasting about 8 minutes in total. This piece was performed by the Southampton Youth Jazz Orchestra during their concert: SYJO with Julian Arguelles on 23rd April 2017. You can listen to the full piece here.
